NIL Summit & Student Athlete NIL
In my previous position at Student Athlete NIL, I played a pivotal role within a dynamic team responsible for orchestrating the annual NIL Summit held in Atlanta, Georgia each summer. The NIL Summit offered an immersive, multi-day professional development experience, serving as a collaborative hub for key figures in college sports. It fostered the exchange of pioneering concepts, exploration of fresh interests, and the acquisition of strategies to fully harness NIL opportunities, enabling participants to strengthen their personal brands and amplify their voices.
I have played a multifaceted role in the NIL Summit, contributing to its planning and execution, particularly in university administrative education. Beyond logistics, I have been involved in partnership development, strategic communications, and curating Summit sessions designed for both student-athletes and administrators. Additionally, I had the privilege of serving as a panelist and host, sharing insights and facilitating meaningful discussions during the event.
HASHTAG SPORTS
I was honored to be able to work with Hashtag Sports on the growth of their event programming, Creators of Color, as part of their Creators United Summit in Atlanta, GA. During our conference, we honored and empowered sports / entertainment creatives ages 21-33 who seek to break the mold of professional and college athletics, and who identify as Black, Latino, Asian, and People of Color.
Aside from working and managing participants at the conference, I managed CRM, email marketing and social media tactics, and conducted marketing research, analysis, and ideation surrounding the strategic development of the Hashtag Sports brand.
My responsibilities included assisting in the promotion of events, programs, partnerships, and content, monitoring social media and engaging with our Hashtag Sports community, and writing copy and creating graphics for social media, website and email marketing. During my time with the team, I was also able to stay on top of marketing trends, and analyze our digital channels to optimize content.
FESTIVAL MANAGEMENT
As a New Orleans native, I have always been interested in the entertainment industry. During my undergraduate career at LSU, I dedicated many weekends to working with local festivals around the area to gain experience in the industry.
Voodoo Music + Arts Festival 2019
Hogs for the Cause hired me as their media intern in 2016, and I worked in several capacities for the non-profit for the next three years. From there, I was able to work the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival 2017 and 2018 on their “VIP Krewe,” helping patrons and staff throughout the weekend. Both of these experiences taught me valuable time management skills, and how to be a great team player. In spring of of 2019, I was chosen to attend SXSW (south by southwest) to sit in on conferences and speakers to learn more about the media, communications, and entertainment industries. Shortly after, for my capstone project, I was able to take over the Baton Rouge Blues Fest’s social media and advertising for the 2019 festival. Ontop of handling social media, I was also able to design their website and do a little crisis-management as well with heavy rain.
As law school quickly approached, I continued my involvement with event management through the New Orleans Food & Wine Festival in 2019 working the media check-in and helping their event staff in the spring. Finally, in October of 2019, I was invited to be part of the C3 Presents Media group through Live Nation for the weekend of Voodoo Music + Arts Festival in New Orleans. I was responsible for completing tasks in a timely manner, being available and on-call, and adapting quickly to whatever needed to be done at the time. I was part of a brilliant media team with hard-working people that taught me more than I could’ve imagined in one weekend.
I am so grateful for all of the opportunities I’ve been given in the entertainment world, and my curiosity only grows as I enter law school and begin to learn the legal aspects of media, sports, and entertainment law.
